DHS funds Synthetik to develop a state-of-the-art flood modeling and data analytics capability

Synthetik is developing a new state-of-the-art, flood modeling capability to support the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), FEMA, and DHS. The platform improves and expands the data associated with insured properties to better understand the location, type, and vulnerability of the NFIP portfolio and enhance the quality, resolution, and speed of temporal and spatial flood models leveraging physics-informed neural networks. Synthetik’s solution will aid FEMA in quantifying flood impact with greater accuracy by leveraging engineering analytics to determine the type and severity of flood damage to each insured property.

SVIP is one of S&T’s programs and tools to fund innovation and work with private sector partners to advance homeland security solutions. Companies participating in SVIP are eligible for up to $800,000 of non-dilutive funding to develop and adapt commercial technologies for homeland security use cases.
