OBEX
Blast & ballistic wall system offering expeditionary protection for the war fighter
Synthetik’s patented multi-layer technology providing protection from explosive blast, Advanced Impulse Reduction (AIR), with its ballistic material technology, HardTac, has been incorporated into OBEX, a modular blast and ballistic wall system. Characterized by its agility, adaptability, reusability, and superior protection levels, OBEX is highly suitable for both expeditionary deployments and enhancing protection in restricted spaces as aircraft revetments, critical infrastructure protection and compartmentalization. OBEX has been vetted through the U.K.’s Army Warfighting Experiment and test-built by the U.S. Marine Corps.
Athene

Modern criminals and terrorists are employing increasingly sophisticated tactics, often using explosive devices and person-borne IEDs to target people and infrastructure. Traditional shields and armor systems do not provide protection against the damaging effects of close-in detonation of an explosive device. Athene, a shield accessory concept, quickly adds blast protection to ballistic shields. Initial field tests show reduction in blast loading, significantly reducing injuries to the operator, allowing reduced standoff and increased training cycles. Synthetik is currently exploring partnerships with leading ballistic shield manufacturers to bring Athene to market.
