Research performed at universities and national laboratories helps drive our understanding of fundamental questions – often leading to ground-breaking solutions with enormous positive potential. And that’s the point.

There is a disconnect between fundamental research and the development of real-world solutions that can be deployed in the field. Transitioning such research in to applications that may benefit the public is largely left to chance – and this is by design. However, this also means that breakthroughs developed at universities and national labs often never reach the public.

 

 

We aim to change this. The Synthetik Applied Technologies team looks for fundamental breakthroughs in foundational areas of science, numerical methods, modeling and simulation, mesh generation, machine learning, and computer vision – and through partnerships with the researchers and institutions that developed them – aims to transition this research in to technologies that can have a positive impact on the world, today.
